to cram or not to cram?

An important question that plagues most students in high school when approaching an exam or test. A good question too, for which is better? I suppose it depends on how you remember things, but its certainly not a question I really want to ponder right now. The only reason it interests me in this very slice of time, is that it is on a postcard I collected today from my school library.
1. Actually for Bell Shakespeare who are running 'The Hamlet Seminar'

2. I am loving him! Isn't this little guy the cutest!! POH on his little shirt standing for Power of Humanity, part of a campaign the Aussie Red Cross is running.

2. "I sat down and wept" by Bel Johnstone
I love this, if you look really close, the outlines of all the fish etc are little dots, its so cool and has this amazing effect, close up the lines created around the man and fish don't fit together, are more blurred and transparent, but further away it all comes together.

3. Between the lines by Ashley Callender
Simple yet has so much meaning...

5 postcards is much better than none

Such a long week it has been, and I am so glad that it is the weekend, I actually got a good sleep in this morning. Over the week I received many postcards, so a special thanks to my mum, dad, Emma my sister and Alysha, a friend at school who gave me some postcards. Unfortunately, I already have quite a few of them, BUT it pleased me greatly that there were some new additions!
1. I love the plan big ones, they always have really cool transitions and little snippets of what something could look like
2. I loved the fact that it was all black and white except for the instruments and the writing.
3. For any twilight lovers out there, my mum gave me this one. I think it looks awesome, and did so before realising it was even related to twilight... I suppose the imprinting part should've tipped my off.

A moment ♥ a love ♥ a dream ♥ a laugh ♥ a kiss ♥ a cry...

This post, is a dedication to my aunt who passed away on the 17th of March. I looked through my postcards with a wish of coming up with some kind of montage that reflected my aunt. She married my mum's brother, and the last time I personally saw her was in 2000 when I was in America last. I didn't want this to be a sad post, but I suppose that it just comes with things like this. But what I hope is that this post, even though I didn't know my aunt all that well, And even though it is just a peek:
I hope that it reflects the beautiful person that she was.
She was once a child...

And a young woman:

She married a wonderful man:

She became a mother

There were the good times...

And the bad...

And when times seemed tough...

She did her best...

And I hope that she rests in a beautiful place...

Surrounded by love...

And soaring amongst the clouds...

To my wonderful family in America:
And I miss you so so much. My prayers are with you all.

oh how do I love my friends? Let me count the ways..

Oh so much, especially considering so many of them take the time to look a little random and take one of each postcard off of a random stand wherever they may pass - the free ones of course, they dont steal for me, I wouldn't ask that of them.

I did receive other postcards during the week, however considering I had mid-year exams I was studying hard... ok I wasn't particularly... but all the same. So thank goodness they were over yesterday!

I acquired a total of 20 from both Annie and Vanessa when we were all walking to our school hall to sit one of our exams, I think it was Studies of Religion... regardless, receiving postcards during exams made the week more joyous that it was! And indeed were there some good ones.

We have the more serious postcards.
1. VS Macbeth 2. Sea Sheperd Australia 3. ArtEXPRESS

ANDDD the not so serious!
1. ok so this is educational... and important, but enjoyed that someone had thought to put on a postcard
2. hehehe would not this be an awesome way to beat the Sydney traffic?
3. Ad for National Youth Week  -if you're a young person in Australia, check it out here

4. How cool is this?! I love the ones like this, where they are like "interactive"

Thanks for getting me to the 1400 mark you two!!

Oh what an adventure!!

Today was my last mid-year exam! Oh Em Geee!! So exciting! :D So myself, Emma and Angela all decided to head to the city to check out ArtEXPRESS at the Rocks. Many of the top pieces of art in the state were picked out to be displayed around different shops and museums and galleries that make up the Rocks. Oh what an adventure we had exploring! Okay so the area isn't actually as big as it looked on the map... so I suppose it wasn't a very large adventure, but it was an adventure al the same. Truth be told I've never explored the rocks like we did today, it was quite epic. Do check it out if you can before March 28 when it ends.

So upon finding the Sydney Information Centre, where one of the artworks was displayed, about half-way through our adventure, there was a postcard stand right outside!
Check out just some of the fabulous ones that I found - well in my opinion anyway :)

1. Ad for a perfume called 'Support Sent' which is just $5 apparently from selected Myer stores and KIT cosmetics, all proceeds going to Guide Dogs Australia. :)
I love the colours and the patterning on the eye/flower, so cool!

2. Ad for Australian Youth Ambassadors for Development Program
3. Wilderness - comtemporary art exhibit on at the Art Gallery of NSW
Looks so weird and pretty at the same time.

4. Ad by Westmead Millennium Institute to take part in research to understand depresion
I love the use of the babushka dolls, caught my eye, but is for such a serious and good cause

5. Want to see your brain in action? asks the back of this postcard! If you'd like to check it out, go here :D
I'm not fussed either way about my own brain, but it would be cool indeed, I just loved the little people - they are actually toys!

Also Angela pointed out some random postcards sitting in gloria jeans when we got ice-chocolates and I happened to pick up the very one that she pointed at. Was amazing of us!
So prettttyyyy :)

no moon?!

I was meaning to post days ago, but the stress of exams - which started today - has kept me busy with studying, now that English is over it makes me even happier to blog some more.

So about two weeks ago I receive a message from my cousin Maggie saying this

'So, I know that you can see the moon in Australia. This may make no sense now, but it eventually will. :) Love you!'

Confused?? me too... My cousin, you see is in Manchester for a semester of uni (usually residing in the US of A) She too started a blog about her trip, which is really cool!
So of course she saw my blog and asked for my address which I gave her. When she sent me the above message, I knew immediately she was sending a postcard... yay! But I was a little confused as to why she was making sure I knew that she could see the moon.
So a couple of days ago I received this awesome of postcard of Scotland's own version of a night club.

(dont you just love my ancient notes underneath, how I enjoy procrastination)

I dont know about you, but I was quite amused. I was even more amused by the message that she sent to me. So while in Edinburgh, Scotland her and her friend went out, as you do of course and met some Aussie boys! As exciting as that is, cause Australia is awesome, she said this: 'they told me you don't see the moon?'
And I thought to myself... what? yes we do... :S are they drunk? Then I remembered her message and I'm oh so glad that she didn't believe them, because yes, if you weren't aware of it, we can actually see the moon! Oh em gee!! haha :P

Maggie, if your reading this, thanks for the postcard!! Love you! :D
